Observation
This value is important for monitoring conservation activities at national level, since it is not influenced by pan-European classification and prioritisation

Country involvement index
Total number of countries in the range of the species that have at least one GCU
Calculated as: Number of countries conserving the species in at least one GCU / number of countries where the species is occurring

Ecozone diversity index
How many ecozones in the range of the species are represented in the conservation network (by at least one GCU)
Calculated as: Number of ecozones in each country where the species is conserved/ total number of ecozones in each country where the species is occurring (summed over countries that are conserving the species only).

Insurance index
How many of the ecozones are represented by at least two GCUs.
Calculated as: Number of ecozones represented in the conservation network with a minimum number of 2 units / number of ecozones where the species is conserved
